High Synagogue (Vysoka synagoga)
The high Synagogue was built in the 16th century with the financial help of Mordechai Maisel, mayor of the Jewish Town. The synagogue is in fact not very high, its name comes from the fact that the prayer hall is situated on the first floor, a somehow unusual thing for the 16th century….
The synagogues hosts an exhibition of Torah mantles, curtains, silver ornaments and also a Jewish museum shop on the ground floor.
