Karlin Studios - art in the former industrial site
Set in a reconstructed factory hall, the Karlin Studios create a facility which puts artists’ studios and exhibition space under one roof. The project offers a unique opportunity to experience the wide spectre of contemporary visual arts in a site-specific environment – an experience which is still quite a challenge to come across in Prague.
The factory’s structures are still very alive here, so if you happen to approach a semi-derelict switchboard with an intrigued frown, you may not succeed in finding a label that would support your desire for explanation. It is, however, very easy to do so, as the space often presents highly conceptual shows.
